KORBEL® SPONSORS “HAWK’S LOCKS FOR KIDS” CHARITY FUNDRAISER

Korbel® California Champagne – through its Toast Life® Foundation – is proud to sponsor “Hawk’s Locks for Kids,” an organization established by Green Bay Packers linebacker A.J. Hawk and his wife, Laura.  Hawk, known for his golden locks peeking out from underneath his helmet every Sunday, has cut his famous ‘do’ to raise money and collect donated hair for children who have lost their hair due to chemotherapy and other cancer treatments.  This year’s charity fundraiser, benefiting Wigs for Kids will take place at the Hawk’s home in Dublin, Ohio, on June 16, 2012.

During the “mane event,” nearly one hundred guests will enjoy celebratory spirits and hors d’oeuvres while raising money and collecting donated hair that will go to making wigs for children. Guests will also be able to meet a few of the children from Hawk’s organization who will be on hand accepting donations.

“Hawk’s Locks for Kids’ helps create life-changing memories for children and their families”, said Gary Heck, president and owner of Korbel Champagne Cellars, “and Korbel is proud to be part of this charitable cause, celebrating life and raising awareness for children with cancer”.

Owned and managed by the Heck family since 1954, Korbel currently makes eleven California champagnes and a limited amount of still wine. In a separate facility Korbel also produces one the country’s most respected brandies.
